Prerequisites
Participants should have at least three years of experience with Hyper-V or have attended the Hyper-V Basic Workshop.

Course objective
In this three-day workshop, you will learn about advanced Hyper-V features such as clustering. Please note: When this course description refers to Windows Server 2022, all previous versions are also included!

- Review of best practices Hyper-V version 5/7.1
- Setting up a Hyper-V environment with clustering
- Rolling cluster upgrade
- Hyper-V replica between different clusters
- Hyper-V storage replica
- Scale-out file server
- Storage Spaces Direct (S2D)
- System Center Virtual Machine Manager
- Hyper-V and scale-out file server (SCOFS) in the cluster with SMB 3.0
- Hyper-V in the cluster with ClusterAwareUpdating (CAU)
- Advanced Backup and Recovery
- Hyper-V with System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
- Hyper-V and Orchestrator
Training environment
The training is completely virtualized. Each participant has a PC with 128 GB RAM, two NVME SSDs (read throughput of up to 3,500 MB/s, write throughput of up to 2,300 MB/s) and a total bandwidth to the Internet of 1 Gbit/s. Each participant “builds” their own environment with the trainer. With the appropriate hardware, new systems can be set up in seconds.
Hardware
Jedem Teilnehmer steht ein dedizierter Server in einem Rechenzentrum mit insgesamt 1 Gbit-Anschluss ins Internet zur Verfügung. Jeder Teilnehmer-Server ist folgendermaßen ausgestattet:
- 128 GB RAM
- at least 20 vCores
- 2 NVME SSDs with at least 3,000 MB/s write and at least 2,000 MB/s read speed
- 1 Gbit to the Internet total bandwidth
Our Trainer
The Advanced Master Class was developed by Andy Wendel and is conducted by himself and his experienced team.
Andy Wendel is a Senior Data Center and Cloud Architect and Certified Security Master Specialization Advanced Windows Security. He was and is trained by the internationally renowned security experts Paula Januszkiewicz and Sami Laiho. This certification is renewed every year. Andy Wendel has been working as an IT trainer and consultant since the late 1990s and is also a certified Microsoft Learning Consultant (MCLC). Microsoft has only awarded 56 Certified Learning Consultants worldwide.
